Info
On 26 August 2026 at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, Angine de Poitrine steps on stage with an instrumental set that blurs the lines between experimental rock, math rock, angular post-punk and a minimalist, pattern-based approach close to certain strains of techno. Formed by Klek and Khn de Poitrine, the Quebec duo composes by layering and stripping back short motifs, building tension through microtonal guitar and bass lines, chromatic phrases and a dry, precise drum sound. The result is a music of movement and shift: asymmetric forms, rhythmic displacement, and grooves that stay taut and physical without ever leaning on vocals.
Live, their pieces evolve by accumulation and withdrawal, nudging the pulse, twisting meters and letting small variations do the work. After the release of Vol. 1 in 2024 and a quick rise across Quebec stages, including a stop at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Angine de Poitrine brings that same focused energy to Vancouver, where repetition becomes a terrain for subtle change and forward motion.
