On 25 September 2026 at Tramshed Cardiff, Toronto five-piece Good Kid bring a rush of melodic rock that folds J‑rock‑tinged riffs into pop‑punk energy and bright indie instincts. Since their 2018 self‑titled EP and its sequels Good Kid 2 and Good Kid 3, the band have sharpened quick choruses, clean guitars and bass lines that push each track forward. Their debut album Can We Hang Out Sometime? in 2024, recorded in Los Angeles with producer John Congleton, broadens the palette with more nuanced dynamics while keeping their direct songwriting and lyrics anchored in friendships, early‑adult doubts and a culture shaped by games and animation.
Sharing the night, Brisbane’s Last Dinosaurs draw as much from new wave and Japanese pop as from indie rock, lining up crisp guitars, tight rhythms and danceable tempos. From the early EP Back from the Dead to the albums In a Million Years, Wellness, Yumeno Garden and From Mexico with Love, they balance immediacy with clear melodic lines, often switching live between punchy full‑band drive and leaner, electronic‑tinted textures.
