Alceu Valença brings 80 Sunflowers to London on 7 November 2026 at Royal Festival Hall, a live overview of eight decades in song on a major European tour. He traces the path from Pernambuco to the present with a set built around Anunciação, Belle de Jour and Tropicana, alongside early material and recent work that map his trajectory across stages in Brazil and beyond.
Known for blending Northeastern rhythms — forró, frevo, baião, maracatu and coco — with urban guitars, psychedelia and pop, Valença shapes popular poetry into arrangements that shift between carnival pulse and intimate acoustic textures. The band for 80 Sunflowers features Tovinho (keyboards, musical direction), Cássio Cunha (drums), Zi Ferreira (guitar), Nando Barreto (bass), André Julião (accordion) and Costinha (flutes), with special guests Lui Coimbra (cello) and Natalia Mitre (percussion).
