Few bands blur the lines between music, art, and escapism quite like Dirty Nice. Currently split between London and Lisbon, they have built a following online. In an age where every band or artist also creates content, they have leaned into their interests and built oddball, dystopian cartoon worlds around their alt-pop tracks. By voicing and animating a host of eccentric characters themselves, the storytelling weaves between their toons and tunes, expanding the world of Dirty Nice that began with the music.

On their third album, they throw open the gates to Planet Weekend, an amusement park inspired by 90s television adverts. Their music has featured on BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, MTV, The Fader, Rolling Stone, KCRW, and Radioeins, and has also been heard in films (Novocaine and Until Dawn), games (Pro Evo and Gran Turismo), and TV. Think MGMT’s day-glo pop meets the Flaming Lips’ psychedelic theatrics, with a British eccentricity that also draws inspiration from Charlie’s time composing for Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared.
