Info

On 10 June 2026 at The Garage, London, The Smith Street Band bring their Melbourne-born blend of melodic punk, indie rock and folk punk. Formed in 2009 around songwriter Wil Wagner, the group writes fast, candid songs about the everyday, relationships and mental health, where pub-punk energy meets more reflective turns. Live, they shift from ragged rushes to open, ringing melodies, carried by Wagner’s grainy voice and talk-sung phrasing.

The set leans across their catalogue: early cuts from No One Gets Lost Anymore and Sunshine & Technology, the broader dynamics of Throw Me in the River and More Scared of You Than You Are of Me, through to the rawer pulse of Don’t Waste Your Anger and Life After Football. Direct and unadorned, their songs are built for collective singalongs and tight corners, with lyrics that keep the focus on the small details that stick. A night with a narrative streak and a steady current of urgency, delivered by a band that has honed its bite on stages across Australia, Europe and North America.
