Info
On 30 September 2026, Bridge City Sinners bring their acoustic folk-punk to Chalk, 13 Pool Valley, Brighton and Hove. Fronted by vocalist Libby Lux, the Portland, Oregon outfit twists banjo, fiddle, upright bass and brass into a blend of old-time folk, bluegrass and street-jazz they like to call death folk. Their songs riff on crooked hymns, outcast tales and macabre humor, delivered with the drive of busking culture and a punk backbone. From the early DIY grind to a solid run of records — a self-titled debut in 2016, Here’s to the Devil in 2019, Unholy Hymns in 2021 and In the Age of Doubt in 2023 — the band has sharpened a live-first sound built on storytelling, harmonies and an unplugged swing that cuts through. Unholy Hymns was named Best Folk Punk Album of the Year by Folk N Rock, and In the Age of Doubt received Grammy consideration in 2024.
Support comes from Joe Black, opening the night before Bridge City Sinners take the stage.
