New Zealand-born, London-based singer, songwriter and pianist Arjuna Oakes brings his genre-blurring songs to Dalston Eastern Curve Garden, London, on 7 July 2026. Since his 2019 debut EP The Watcher and last year’s album I’m Distracted, Oakes has developed a practice that folds songwriting, improvisation and production into one. His collaborative streak runs deep: with Serebii on the twin projects First Nights and Final Days for Innovative Leisure, and with Greek-Kiwi composer John Psathas on Future Lullaby and Sierra, the latter recorded in Athens with an ensemble of Greek musicians. On stage he moves from intimate, keys-led pieces to fuller arrangements, balancing grooves, harmony and narrative lyrics.
