Desta French, an artist embracing her heritage while carving out an identity.
Blending Spanish and English with fluidity, Desta’s sound reflects Latin and British influences. Raised in Camden, North London, and shaped by her Colombian and Italian roots, her early influences were steeped in the sounds of Grupo Niche and the rhythms of cumbia, soundtracking a childhood filled with family parties and cultural expression.
From recording toplines on the London Underground to refining her artistry through drama and Latin studies, Desta has been driven by a desire to create.
Now, she brings that energy and vision to Freight Brixton on Thursday 2 July 2026 at 5:00 pm.
