Dorian Electra brings their shape-shifting pop to Strange Brew, Bristol, on 28 May 2026. Since the 2010s, the Houston-born artist has built a project at the crossroads of experimental pop, electropop, hyperpop and visual performance. Early online singles and videos set the tone: satire rubbing against pop codes, historical references and internet aesthetics. Flamboyant (2019) lays the groundwork with dense electronic productions, direct hooks and nods to glam, baroque and metal. My Agenda (2020) pushes a rougher edge and approaches questions of identity, masculinity and digital culture with sharper contours. Fanfare (2023) extends that path in a more theatrical direction, still mixing registers and textures.
On stage, Electra shifts from pop choruses to abrasive synths and stylised dramaturgy, moving between concert energy, club impulses and performance art. The live show folds songs into remixed passages and left turns, letting character work and costume flip through different personas. Special guests join the bill for this date in Bristol.
