Six60

On 18 July 2026 Six60 will play Melkweg in Amsterdam. The New Zealand outfit formed in 2008 in Dunedin, when a group of classmates named the project after their house on Castle Street. Since then the band has been developing its own blend of soul, pop-rock, contemporary R&B and electronics, with the occasional streak of drum-and-bass. Melodies and sing-along choruses are central, delivered with a live approach that launches the songs straight into the room.

After an initial EP came the albums Six60 (2011), again Six60 (2015 and 2019) and Castle St (2022). Over the years their sound has shifted between pop songs, more electronic rhythms and lighter soul and reggae hues. Six60 have played the major outdoor stages in their homeland of Aotearoa/New Zealand and collaborated with artists from the local scene. Part of their repertoire has also been released in te reo Māori, making those roots audible.

In Amsterdam Six60 will perform as a four-piece, following the departure of the original drummer in 2024. Expect a set that mixes older material with more recent tracks, driven by their characteristic group vocals and tight grooves.
