Info
Dorian Electra brings their shapeshifting pop and performance art to Stereo, 22 Renfield Lane, Glasgow, on 31 May 2026. Raised in Houston’s online underground, Electra has built a world where satire, pop hooks and internet aesthetics collide with glam touches and abrasive electronics. Flamboyant (2019) laid the groundwork with dense synths, bright refrains and a taste for costume and character. My Agenda (2020) pushed further into hyperpop and metal-tinged textures while tackling identity, masculinity and digital culture head-on. Fanfare (2023) extended that vision with a more theatrical, almost cabaret-like writing, always mixing registers and textures with precision.
On stage, Electra blurs the line between club and concert, switching personas in quick cuts and moving from sugar-rush melodies to serrated riffs without losing the thread. The set often weaves early singles with newer experiments, carried by a production that favors sharp contrasts and vivid storytelling. Along the way, collaborations with Charli XCX, 100 gecs or Pussy Riot have fed this hybrid approach. In Glasgow, Dorian Electra plays with special guests, for a show built on bold arrangements, playful references and a sense of pop as a living, shifting performance.
