Darkside

Darkside plays EartH Theatre, London, on 13 July 2026. Formed by Chilean-American producer Nicolas Jaar and guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Dave Harrington, the project moves between electronic minimalism, slow-blues inflections and a nocturnal, psychedelic drift. First heard on a 2011 EP and shaped on their 2013 album Psychic, their sound blends textured guitar with restrained vocals, sparse rhythms and patient, progressive builds.

After a pause following Psychic, Darkside returned with Spiral in 2021, leaning into long-form pieces driven by repetition, subtle pulses and open-ended improvisation. Live, the duo has expanded in recent years to include percussionist Tlacael Esparza, adding a warmer, more physical backbone that nudges the music toward a looser, more organic feel.

On stage, tracks unfold rather than burst: grooves settle in, motifs circle back, and electronics and guitar trade the foreground. Sitting somewhere between a rock show and an electronic performance, Darkside lets time stretch, focusing on tension, detail and the slow shift of textures.
