On 15 May at Patterns, Brighton, Hospital Records marks three decades with a two-room takeover that traces its sound from liquid moods to club-driven cuts, alongside a Tru Thoughts showcase.
Room 1 leans into Hospital’s palette. Etherwood brings the melodic, introspective side of drum and bass, where rapid rhythms meet guitar, piano and airy textures, with songwriting instincts shaping the flow. HOAX follows with a tighter, dancefloor-focused edge, pushing crisp drums and weighty bass lines. Vocalist and producer SOLAH steps in with vocal-led drum and bass that hits both warm and direct. Johannesburg-based DJ STAY-C keeps the pressure with upfront selections and taut mixing, while PVC is on mic duties to glue it all together.
Room 2 is steered by Tru Thoughts. Footshooter navigates broken beat, house and jazz-rooted electronics, joining the dots between grooves and bass-driven momentum. Kyla Kilzer and Max Noir team up for a set that leans into percussive club sounds and rolling low end. Rhys Baker rounds things out with selections that keep the room moving without losing the detail in the mix.
