Del Amitri bring Past to Present – Four Decades of Their Greatest Music to Sheffield City Hall on 17 November 2026. Formed in Glasgow in 1980 around singer-bassist and songwriter Justin Currie, the band carved out a place in British rock with clear guitars, direct melodies and a streak of melancholy. With Iain Harvie on guitar and Andy Alston on keys, they honed the sound of Waking Hours and Change Everything, then pushed it through Twisted and Some Other Sucker’s Parade, leaving songs like Nothing Ever Happens, Kiss This Thing Goodbye, Always the Last to Know and Roll to Me. After Can You Do Me Good? in 2002 and a long pause, they returned to the road in 2013 and to the studio with Fatal Mistakes in 2021.

This show threads their early jangle-pop and folk-tinged rock with later, leaner material, centred on Currie’s songwriting and the band’s tight interplay. Four decades on, Del Amitri keep it simple: songs first, guitars close behind, a set built to walk through their catalogue without nostalgia cues.
