Info
Jools Holland brings his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra to Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham on 25 November 2026. Pianist, bandleader and early member of Squeeze, Holland has built a live show rooted in boogie-woogie and rhythm and blues. His piano drives a full big-band lineup, with brass answering every riff and a rhythm section that keeps the swing grounded. The set draws on blues turnarounds, rock’n’roll shuffles and jump-blues energy, leaving space for tight solos and call-and-response figures. Holland’s quick melodic runs and rolling left hand sit at the center, pushing the groove while the orchestra lifts the arrangements. Since the late 70s he has carried these traditions on stage and on screen, and the orchestra has grown into a touring fixture across the UK and Europe. In Nottingham, it’s about the band in full flight and a pianist who treats classic forms as living material.
