Gena feat. Liv.e & Karriem Riggins

GENA is the new meeting point between Dallas-born, LA-based Liv.e and Detroit-rooted drummer and producer Karriem Riggins. On 28 August 2026 at Band on the Wall in Manchester, the duo dives into an open format where jazz instincts, beat craft and R&B deconstruction meet. Liv.e’s grainy harmonies, off-the-cuff hooks and layered vocals sketch the song form while Riggins folds supple, hard-grooving drums into sample-minded patterns. It plays like a conversation more than a setlist, with ideas tossed back and forth, themes cracked open then rebuilt on the fly.

Their first release as a duo, CIRCLESZ, sets the tone: an analog, pulsing cut held together by the calm architecture of Liv.e’s voice. The track explores that dizzy pull between two people and the small gestures that define a bond. On stage, GENA pushes this chemistry further, leaning on Riggins’ elastic sense of time and long improvising experience, and on Liv.e’s singular way of reshaping R&B, to land in a place that’s soulful, rhythmic and constantly in motion.
