Alison Moyet

Alison Moyet takes the stage at Eden Court in Inverness on 30 October 2026. From her early days in Essex punk and R&B through the synth-pop of Yazoo with Vince Clarke, her path has always balanced electronics and songcraft. As a solo artist she has shaped a sound where contralto depth meets pop, soul and blues, from Alf and Raindancing to the more raw Hoodoo and Essex, then Hometime, the orchestral covers of Voice and the songwriter focus of The Turn. With The Minutes and Other, created with producer Guy Sigsworth, she returned to a darker, leaner electronic palette without losing warmth.

On stage, Moyet usually revisits that journey rather than a single era, folding in Yazoo pieces alongside solo favourites and later material, shifting from crisp synthesizers to more classic textures. The voice stays central: grainy, low and flexible, carrying intimate ballads as easily as tight, rhythmic tracks. This concert links her early new-wave pulse with the reflective writing of her recent albums, in a set built for clarity and presence, with arrangements that leave space for her timbre and phrasing to cut through.
