Ezhel

Ankara-born rapper and singer Ezhel brings his blend of rap, trap and dancehall-inflected grooves to The Liquid Room in Edinburgh on 21 October 2026. Emerging from Turkey’s urban scene, he has shaped a sound where melodic hooks meet rapid-fire flows and moody atmospheres, often threaded with Anatolian and arabesk nuances. After early online releases, his 2017 album Müptezhel marked a turning point. Splitting his time between Turkey and Berlin, he multiplied collaborations with the German scene, notably with Ufo361 on the joint album Lights Out (2019) and the project LOLO (2023). In 2020, Made in Turkey pushed further into tuneful trap and pop-adjacent refrains, while a steady run of singles and features with artists like Murda and Summer Cem expanded his reach across Europe’s clubs and festivals.

On stage, Ezhel condenses this trajectory into bass-heavy beats, agile phrasing and bittersweet choruses. The set navigates between slow-burn haze and brisk bounce, shifting from sung lines to tight, percussive rap. Lyrically, his tracks orbit everyday city life, intimate relationships and social contradictions, carried by arrangements that balance grit and melody without losing momentum.
