The Bridge City Sinners take over The Fleece in Bristol on 11 October 2026. Based in Portland, Oregon, the band folds old-time folk, bluegrass and street jazz into a lean acoustic setup of banjo, fiddle, upright bass and brass. Led by vocalist Libby Lux, they describe their strain of folk as "death folk," built on narrative lyrics that twist religious imagery, spotlight outsiders and play with dark humor. First known for relentless DIY touring, they have since mapped out a catalog from a self-titled debut (2016) to Here’s to the Devil (2019), Unholy Hymns (2021) and In the Age of Doubt (2023). On stage, they keep a direct line with the crowd, with the looseness of a roaming brass band and the bite drawn from punk scenes. Acoustic but forceful, their songs run on fast-picked banjo, scraping fiddle and tight harmonies that keep the storytelling front and center.
Also on the bill, Cheap Dirty Horse from the UK joins the lineup.
