The Streets

On 18 July 2026 at Alexandra Park in London, The Streets will perform A Grand Don’t Come for Free in full for the first time. Mike Skinner revisits his 2004 concept album as a complete narrative, following the thread from a missing grand to tangled friendships and a relationship on the rocks. The set runs front to back, keeping the story’s flow intact, with the skits and interludes that link each scene.

Live, Skinner’s half-spoken delivery and lean UK garage/rap production put the focus on everyday detail and dry humour. Fit But You Know It, Dry Your Eyes and Blinded by the Lights sit alongside deeper cuts, tracing the arc from rush-hour euphoria to late-night comedown. Between 2-step swing, grime-tinged edges and warm synths, the album’s palette stays raw and direct, built for bodies in motion as much as for close listening.

This show centers what defines The Streets: observational writing, clipped beats and a clear, conversational flow. The album is performed as one continuous story, played as it was written, by the voice that shaped it.
