Suede and Manic Street Preachers take over The O2, London, on 6 November 2026. Suede carry the taut riffs and shadowy romance that marked their rise through the 90s. Led by Brett Anderson, the band shaped a theatrical strain of British guitar music that looks at urban drift, desire and melancholy. From their self-titled debut and the darker Dog Man Star to the punchier Coming Up, their catalogue navigates grit and glow, then circles back with Bloodsports and a run of more inward records, from Night Thoughts to Autofiction. On stage, they balance tension and release, tight rhythms and sharp hooks, with Anderson front and centre.
Formed in Blackwood in 1986, Manic Street Preachers bring punk roots and melodic control, mixing driven guitars with articulate, politically focused lyrics. Early albums like Generation Terrorists, Gold Against the Soul and The Holy Bible set a stark, literate tone; after 1995 the trio broadened scope on Everything Must Go and This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours, then kept shifting through Know Your Enemy, Lifeblood, Send Away the Tigers, Journal for Plague Lovers, The Ultra Vivid Lament and Critical Thinking. Live, the band moves between anthemic choruses and lean, wired energy, holding tight to a distinct Welsh identity.
