Grace Petrie

Grace Petrie performs on Friday 16 October 2026 at 6:00 pm at Foundry in Sheffield.

For a decade and a half, Grace Petrie has been active as a UK folk songwriter. Coming of age amidst the coalition government, her politically charged folk music gained national attention and took her to folk festivals from Cambridge to Vancouver to the Blue Mountains of Australia. Her live shows create an atmosphere of hope and solidarity, and her song Black Tie is widely known in LGBTQ communities.

Grace has toured in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, and has supported Billy Bragg, Frank Turner and Hannah Gadsby. She has appeared on ITVX, Channel 4, Sky Arts and BBC Radio 2’s Folk Show, and performed live BBC sessions for Tom Robinson (BBC Radio 6 Music) and Jo Whiley (BBC Radio 2). Her 2024 album Build Something Better was produced by Frank Turner.

In 2026 she explores the stripped-back nature of folk songwriting, performing a show of two halves that includes an intimate solo set and a career retrospective full-band performance featuring songs from across her sixteen-year catalogue.
