Info
Sheffield’s synthpop outfit Heaven 17 bring their sharp electronic grooves to the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London on 13 October 2026. Formed in 1980 after the original split of the Human League, the group today revolves around Glenn Gregory and Martyn Ware. Their mix of drum‑machine snap, funk‑minded basslines and sleek keyboards has defined tracks such as “(We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang” and the Penthouse and Pavement era, where social tension and pop melodies intersect. The Luxury Gap follows with “Temptation,” “Come Live with Me” and “Crushed by the Wheels of Industry,” songs that still structure their concerts.
On stage, Heaven 17 revisit their catalogue with tight electronics, soul harmonies and a groove that bridges club culture and early‑’80s pop. Sets typically cover Penthouse and Pavement, The Luxury Gap and How Men Are, with later material from Bigger Than America and Before After. Backed by Gregory’s baritone and Ware’s synthetic architecture, the duo retain a taut, edgy sound true to the songwriting that set them apart.
