Lola Young

Lola Young brings her blend of modern soul, R&B and pared-back pop to O2 Academy Glasgow on 16 June 2026. A South London songwriter, she crafts intimate narratives across piano-led ballads and more rhythmic cuts, with subtle touches of jazz and hip-hop that keep the focus on melody and voice.

After a first wave of singles, Lola set her foundations with the EPs Intro (2019), Renaissance (2020) and After Midnight (2021), each exploring a different shade of the same sound, from minimalist soul to alt-pop textures. A 2021 cover of Together in Electric Dreams introduced her to a wider audience, before her debut album This Wasn’t Meant For You Anyway (2024) pushed further into narrative writing within a contemporary soul framework.

On stage, she performs with a band and keeps arrangements uncluttered so the songs breathe. The set tends to move between quiet, piano-led moments and more upfront grooves, linking earlier material with newer tracks from the album.
