Info
Bill Callahan brings his singular songwriting to The Leeds Irish Centre on 4 October 2026. Fresh from My Days of 58, his eighth album, he extends that “living room” approach on stage: quiet dynamics, room to breathe, and melodies that shift as the band listens and responds. Callahan’s baritone anchors portraits of everyday life, guided by a trio that has shaped his recent tours — Matt Kinsey on guitar, Dustin Laurenzi on saxophone and Jim White on drums. Their interplay draws on the improv-minded ethos behind the new record: parts can loosen, accidents become ideas, and songs find new routes from night to night. Folk, slow-burning rock and country textures fold into clean, unforced storytelling that moves close to the grain of the voice and the words.
With support from Nathan Bowles. A drummer and banjo player rooted in Appalachian patterns and open tunings, he sets a grounded pulse and an exploratory feel that lines up neatly with Callahan’s taste for space and surprise.
