Skindred

Skindred plays Barrowland Ballroom, Glasgow, on 13 November 2026. Formed in Newport in 1998 from the Dub War story, the band fuses ragga, punk and metal into a direct, rhythmic mix: thick guitar riffs, reggae and dancehall pulses, hip-hop phrasing and hook-led choruses. Fronted by Benji Webbe with Mikey Demus on guitar and Arya Goggin on drums, Skindred has refined this approach across Babylon (2002), Roots Rock Riot, Shark Bites and Dog Fights, Union Black, Kill the Power, Volume, Big Tings and Smile (2023). The music leans on tempo shifts, off-beat skank and low-end pressure that anchors the songs. On stage, that hybrid crosses scenes, which has taken the group alongside Korn, Disturbed, Papa Roach, Gogol Bordello and Rob Zombie, and onto festivals like Download, Reading and Leeds, Hellfest and Wacken. In Glasgow, Skindred draws on its catalogue old and new, balancing metal crunch, reggae bounce and rap-inflected flow.
