The Streets return to Birmingham for a hometown date at O2 Academy Birmingham on 17 July 2026. Led by Mike Skinner, the project has shaped UK rap and garage since the early 2000s, turning everyday scenes into tight narratives across albums like Original Pirate Material and A Grand Don’t Come for Free. That mix of dry wit, detail and club-rooted production continue to drive the live show.
On stage, Skinner moves from conversational asides to clipped flows, sliding over beats that nod to 2-step, grime and electronica. The set draws on a catalogue that spans two decades, alongside newer material from The Darker the Shadow the Brighter the Light, leant structure by his direct, observational writing. It’s The Streets as they are now and as they began: stories from the city, basslines built for movement, and the unmistakable cadence of Skinner back on home ground.
