Archspire brings its high-velocity strain of technical death metal to Electric Ballroom, London, on 26 October 2026. Formed in the late 2000s in Vancouver, the quintet — vocalist Oli Peters, guitarists Dean Lamb and Tobi Morelli, bassist Jared Smith and drummer Spencer Prewett — builds songs around surgical riffing, hyper-detailed drum grids and rapid, percussive vocal flows. Their debut All Shall Align (2011) set the framework; The Lucid Collective (2014) and Relentless Mutation (2017, on Season of Mist) tightened the writing, balancing blast-driven passages with brief atmospheric openings. Bleed the Future (2021), recorded again with producer Dave Otero, sharpened clarity without stripping complexity, giving dense arrangements a clean, readable edge.
On stage, Archspire leans on ensemble precision rather than solo bravura, locking guitars, bass and drums into abrupt pivots, tight unison runs and sudden silences. Speed is a constant, but the focus stays on articulation: tapped figures against staccato kicks, pick scrapes cutting through stacked harmonies, and verses delivered at an almost instrumental cadence. Across four albums, their material is built for sharp transitions and collective control, channeling intensity into tight structures that reward close listening.
