Glassjaw

Glassjaw play Electric Ballroom, London, on 10 July 2026. Formed on Long Island in 1993 around singer Daryl Palumbo and guitarist Justin Beck, the band carved a post-hardcore approach that folds alternative metal tension into jagged guitars, abrupt rhythmic breaks and a voice that shifts from abrasion to clarity. Spotted at the turn of the millennium by producer Ross Robinson, they released Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence (2000) then Worship and Tribute (2002), where stronger contrasts and more open passages widened their palette without dulling the edges.

After EPs like El Mark (2005) and the twin releases Our Color Green and Coloring Book (2011), Glassjaw returned with the album Material Control in 2017, tightening the screws while keeping the dissonance and dynamic swings. Still built around the Palumbo–Beck core, with Chad Hasty on drums since 2015, the group on stage leans into tension-and-release: riffs that bite, stop-start grooves and sudden breaths of space that let melodies surface. Across their catalogue, from early urgency to later precision, the through line is movement—sharp turns, elastic vocals and a live sound honed for rooms like the Electric Ballroom.
