Billy Ocean plays Kelvingrove Bandstand, Glasgow, on 14 August 2026. Born Leslie Sebastian Charles in Trinidad and raised in East London, he forged a sound between R&B, soul and pop, with clear Caribbean inflections. Breakthrough singles Love Really Hurts Without You and Red Light Spells Danger set the tone in the 70s, followed in the 80s by the albums Suddenly, Love Zone and Tear Down These Walls, where his flexible voice meets tight grooves and polished synth textures. On stage he connects those periods, shifting from early dancefloor cuts to slow-burning ballads, drawing on a catalogue that runs from Caribbean Queen (No More Love on the Run) to later work such as One World. Still active live and in the studio, Ocean tours with a band focused on melody and rhythm, leaving space for the songs to breathe. A set built on solid songwriting and groove, spanning classic singles and newer tracks.
