Saharan blues band Tamikrest bring the voice of the Kel Tamasheq people to the stage. Formed on the border of Algeria and Mali in 2006, Tamikrest quickly developed a reputation for their sharp melodies and politically engaged songwriting.
The album Chatma—dedicated to the struggles of women in the Sahara—is part of the Ishumar genre. Since then, Tamikrest have further asserted their Tamasheq roots, fusing traditional music with the energy of rock. Tamikrest perform on 14 June 2026 at 6:00 pm at Jazz Cafe.
