Crash Test Dummies

Crash Test Dummies return to Newcastle upon Tyne for a date at Wylam Brewery on 1 October 2026. Formed in Winnipeg around Brad Roberts’ deep baritone, the band blends alternative rock, folk and pop with a country tint, with Ellen Reid’s keys and harmonies, Dan Roberts on bass and multi-instrumentalist Benjamin Darvill, joined by drummer Mitch Dorge. After two quiet decades, they hit the road again in 2022 to mark the 30 years of The Ghosts That Haunt Me, then in 2023 revisited God Shuffled His Feet, the album that carried them far beyond their hometown.

On stage, they draw from those early acoustic, narrative songs and layered vocals, then slide into the more electric textures and pop grooves of their later records. The recent tours have also been shaped by conversations with fans, whose stories nudged the band to keep touring and making music. A career-spanning set that moves across eras without fuss, letting the songs breathe and the baritone lead, for a night that reconnects the 90s with the present.
