Chali 2na (Jurassic 5) - Live Band & A-Skills

Chali 2na, the unmistakable baritone of Jurassic 5, brings a live band to SWG3 Glasgow on 28 May 2026. Raised in South Central Los Angeles, he honed his craft at the Good Life Café with Unity Committee before linking with Cut Chemist, Akil, Zaakir and Marc 7 to form J5. His fast, low-end flow and taste for group interplay shaped a style rooted in old school discipline, funk and soul sampling, and break-driven rhythms. Alongside early work with Ozomatli, he’s built a solo path through the Fish Market tapes, the album Fish Outta Water and the Against the Current EP series, while multiplying collaborations across hip-hop, dub, funk and electronic scenes.

On stage, the live format puts his cadence and storytelling up front, with arrangements shaped by hooks, harmonies and groove. The set can move between Jurassic 5 staples and solo cuts, carried by musicians who lean into funk, soul and break traditions. A-Skills joins the bill, completing a lineup built around a voice that hip-hop heads instantly recognize.
