On 26 June 2026 at O2 Academy Liverpool, Dropkick Murphys bring their Boston-forged blend of punk energy and Irish folk roots. Formed in 1996 around bassist Ken Casey, the band shaped a sound where gang vocals, sharp guitars and traditional textures—accordion, banjo, whistle, sometimes pipes—collide with straight-ahead punk. Early albums like Do or Die and The Gang’s All Here set the pace; Blackout and The Warrior’s Code refined it with tight, melodic anthems, including I’m Shipping Up to Boston, adapted from Woody Guthrie’s lyrics. Through Going Out in Style, 11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory and Turn Up That Dial, they’ve kept that mix alive while opening a dialogue with American folk on This Machine Still Kills Fascists. On stage, it becomes a rush of riffs, reels and chants built for the crowd.
