Jorge Drexler

Uruguayan musician, composer and singer Jorge Drexler brings his new album TARACÁ to the stage with a live show built around the pulse of candombe. On 27 October 2026 at the Roundhouse in London, he performs with a seven-piece band and a reworked staging designed to underline the record’s rhythmic backbone and vocal interplay. Long attentive to the meeting point between text and groove, Drexler leans into the Montevideo drum tradition here, letting its circular cadence drive songs that also carry traces of milonga, murga, bossa, pop and subtle electronics.

The set draws widely from TARACÁ, released in March 2026, and folds the new material into selections from across his catalogue, revisited through this percussion-led lens. Arrangements open space for close harmonies, nimble guitars and discreet electronic color, while the drums keep the music moving with an earthy, street-born feel. The concert maps how his songwriting expands within a full ensemble focused on rhythm and detail, without losing the clarity and intimacy that anchor his work.
