Info
Ezhel brings his hybrid rap to Birmingham on 19 October 2026 at XOYO Birmingham. Born in Ankara in 1990, Sercan İpekçioğlu has shaped a sound that threads trap beats, dancehall pulses and shades of Anatolian and arabesk music. He shifts easily between melodic hooks and rapid-fire verses, with dark, atmospheric productions that frame stories of city life, relationships and social pressure.
His breakthrough came with the 2017 album Müptezhel, followed by steady releases and collaborations that widened his reach between Turkey and Berlin. Close ties with the German scene feed his approach, notably with Ufo361 on the joint album Lights Out in 2019 and the LOLO project in 2023, plus features alongside Murda or Summer Cem. Made in Turkey (2020) pushed further into melodic rap and pop-leaning refrains without losing the grit of his early tracks.
On stage, Ezhel moves from club-ready rhythms to more introspective textures, guided by bass-heavy production and sharp hooks. The set draws from recent singles, collaborations and earlier cuts, carried by an elastic voice that flips from sung lines to tight, percussive flows. A live snapshot of contemporary Turkish rap shaped by Ankara roots, Berlin connections and an online-native energy.
