Shed Seven

Shed Seven play O2 Academy Leicester on 23 November 2026. Formed in York in 1990, the band carved a sound at the meeting point of britpop, alternative and indie rock: melodic guitars, straight-ahead choruses and a direct stage presence. Fronted by singer Rick Witter with bassist Tom Gladwin, the group’s history has seen guitarists Joe Johnson and Paul Banks shape its early years; more recently Tim Wills and drummer Rob Maxfield have been part of the line-up.

After cutting their teeth on the UK live circuit, Shed Seven released a run of albums on Polydor — Change Giver (1994), A Maximum High (1996) and Let It Ride (1998) — then Truth Be Told (2001) before a pause in 2003. A 2007 reunion reignited touring, followed by a studio return with Instant Pleasures (2017), then A Matter of Time (2024) and Liquid Gold the same year, revisiting and re-recording parts of their catalogue. On stage, they lean into tight, tuneful guitars and unfussy delivery, moving between 90s staples and recent tracks for a set that maps their three-decade journey.
