Info
On 8 July 2026 at Fan Park in Edmonton, Angine de Poitrine steps in with an instrumental set honed since 2023. The Quebec duo — Klek and Khn de Poitrine — writes at the edges of experimental rock, math rock, angular post-punk and a repetitive mechanics close to certain forms of techno. Their pieces evolve by layering and subtracting short motifs: dry, precise drums; microtonal guitar and bass lines; chromatic phrases that install discreet tension within often asymmetrical structures. No vocals here, just movement, variation and rhythmic displacement.
On stage, the flow shifts by small increments, grooves tighten and loosen, riffs slip in and out of phase, with momentum built through accumulation rather than big drops. Their first release, Vol. 1 (2024), sketched this method and carried them across Quebec stages, including a stop at the Montreal Jazz Festival. In Edmonton, they keep tracing that line where rock energy meets a minimal, iterative approach to repetition, a compact format that brings motion and detail to the foreground.
