Laura Veirs plays Whelan’s, Dublin, on 23 September 2026. Based in Portland, the American singer-songwriter has spent more than two decades between folk, baroque folk and alt-country, favoring spare arrangements, winding melodies and lyrics shaped by literature and the natural world. Since her self-titled debut in 1999, she has built a steady body of work: Carbon Glacier, Year of Meteors and Saltbreakers from the Nonesuch years; the independent turn with July Flame; later albums The Lookout, My Echo, Found Light and Phone Orphans. On stage, Veirs’s fingerpicking and understated voice bring out the grain of these songs, letting stories and images surface without fuss. The set is likely to move across eras, from early favorites to recent pieces, with possible nods to side paths like her trio with Neko Case and k.d. lang.
