Geordie Greep

Geordie Greep brings his solo project to Kraków on 4 July 2026 at Klub Zaścianek. Known as the singer, guitarist and principal songwriter of Black Midi, he forged a sound built on sharp rhythms, unstable forms and narrative writing, drawing as much from art rock and post‑punk as from jazz, classical leanings and improvisation. Solo, he keeps that dense, theatrical approach while opening up his songs to contrasts and character-driven storytelling.

Born in Walthamstow and trained at the BRIT School, Greep first emerged at the Windmill in Brixton before fixing a path across three Black Midi albums: Schlagenheim, Cavalcade and Hellfire. Since the band’s pause, he has focused on his own material with The New Sound (2024), a set that folds experimental rock, Latin colours and jazz inflections into compact, scene-like pieces. Live, expect tight motifs that uncoil into elastic grooves, abrupt breaks that reset the pulse, and a voice that shifts from croon to spoken cadence to carry the plot of each song.

This date at Klub Zaścianek, Kraków, Poland, traces the line between that early turbulence and his current writing, with arrangements that privilege dynamic tension, sudden left turns and a clear sense of narrative. A focused show from a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who treats each composition like a small play.
