Info

On 15 October 2026 at Finlandia-talo in Helsinki, Wardruna brings its Nordic folk and ambient ritual to the stage. Founded in Bergen in 2003 by Einar Selvik with Gaahl and Lindy-Fay Hella, the Norwegian group has shaped a sound rooted in Old Norse texts, pulse-driven percussion and acoustic timbres drawn from Scandinavian traditions. Over time it stepped away from the metal scene to embrace a slower, stripped approach where voices, skin drums and string textures carry the narrative.

Led today by Einar Selvik and Lindy-Fay Hella, Wardruna spans a catalogue that runs from the Runaljod trilogy (Gap Var Ginnunga, Yggdrasil, Ragnarok) to the bare-bones Skald, then Kvitravn and Birna. Their music also crossed into the score of the series Vikings alongside Trevor Morris, broadening the reach of these compositions beyond niche circuits.

On stage in Helsinki, expect chants in Old Norse, resonant drums and instruments inspired by Nordic cultures, arranged with attention to space and silence. The set draws on years of research into runes and oral traditions, arranged for voice, percussion and acoustic textures.
