Eyehategod hits Vienna on July 2, 2026 at Viper Room, Landstraßer Hauptstraße 38, 1030 Wien, Austria. Born in the late-80s New Orleans underground, the band shapes a sludge metal that welds slow-motion doom to abrasive hardcore and crooked blues, saturating everything with feedback while Mike IX Williams spits a grainy, incantatory vocal. Around guitarist Jimmy Bower, Eyehategod helped define the NOLA sound with heavy tempos, looping riffs and lyrics marked by dependency, paranoia and Southern urban life. Early records In the Name of Suffering (1992) and Take as Needed for Pain (1993) laid the ground, followed by Dopesick (1996) and Confederacy of Ruined Lives (2000), then a self-titled comeback in 2014 and A History of Nomadic Behavior (2021).

On stage, the group plays with friction and drift: dragging grooves broken by brief punk surges, repetition pushed to trance, and a constant layer of noise that keeps the atmosphere unstable. The set draws from across the catalogue without polishing the angles, holding tight to the tension between crushing slowness and sudden accelerations that has carried Eyehategod from NOLA basements to European rooms.
