The Franklin Electric - Europe + UK 2026

Montreal outfit The Franklin Electric, led by singer and songwriter Jon Matte, brings its blend of indie folk and alternative pop to B72 in Vienna on May 6, 2026. Built around Matte’s writing and a flexible lineup, the project balances piano-led melodies, understated brass and acoustic textures with discreet electronic touches. The debut album This Is How I Let You Down (2014) set the tone; Blue Ceilings (2017) expanded it with more atmospheric layers. EPs and singles since then have widened the palette while keeping the intimate core of the songs.

On stage, the group adapts formation and instrumentation to the room, shifting from close, voice-forward ballads to more rhythmic arrangements. The set leans on fluid dynamics, clear songcraft and arrangements that trade space between piano, guitars and subtle beats, with Matte’s voice as the anchor.
