Info
On January 19, 2027, Anna von Hausswolff will take over the Foufounes Électriques in Montreal with the Iconoclasts Tour, accompanied by guest artists. At the heart of the project are her voice and the organ, the driving forces behind a sound that advances in layers and slow-building tensions.
A singer, composer and organist from Gothenburg, she has been shaping, since the late 2000s, a body of work in which the organ leads the melody as much as the atmosphere. Her clear voice cuts through thick, sustained soundscapes—somewhere between dark songwriting, ambient music and a rock that favors ascent and build-up rather than frontal impact. From Singing from the Grave to Ceremony, then The Miraculous and Dead Magic, she stretches forms, cultivates repetition and brushes up against the edges of post-rock and experimental scenes. With All Thoughts Fly, wholly devoted to the organ, she takes this minimalist, melodic approach even further.
On stage, Anna works with space and volume, sets up patient progressions and lets the organ fill the room while her voice shapes the contours. Expect extended pieces, stacking drones and restrained then released surges, alternating sung numbers and instrumental passages. A set tailored to the venue, conceived with duration and sonic texture in mind.
