Mélo Festival — Friday lands on June 5, 2026 at Plaza Repentigny in Repentigny. At the crossroads of contemporary country and hook-driven pop, Canadian Josh Ross turns his breakup and small‑town stories into songs crafted for live performance. Originally from Ontario and now based in Nashville, he took a step forward with “First Taste of Gone” before following up with “On A Different Night,” “Trouble,” and “Ain’t Doin’ Jack.” Signed to Universal Music Canada in partnership with Big Loud, he cultivates songwriting that is both narrative and effective, brought to the stage by a tight band, guitar‑forward arrangements, and a collective energy.
Vince Lemire, for his part, bridges new country and Quebec’s francophone song tradition. He drew attention with “On aime le whisky,” “Belle vie,” and “Un jour ou l’autre,” while also writing and co‑producing for Francis Degrandpré, Guillaume Lafond, Blue Ridge Band, Laurence St‑Martin, and Andie Thério. On stage, he delivers clear choruses, a modern rhythmic pulse, and French‑language lyrics that speak to local life, all in a direct live format rooted in the country codes of the local scene.
