Royal Republic

On October 20, 2026, Le 106 in Rouen will host Royal Republic. Formed in Malmö in 2007, the quartet brings together Adam Grahn on vocals and guitar, Hannes Irengård on guitar, Jonas Almén on bass and Per Andreasson on drums. On record as well as on stage, the band follows a clear line: direct, nervy rock drawing on alternative, garage, hard rock, punk and even dance-punk, with short songs, tight choruses and a well-rooted groove.

From We Are the Royal in 2010 and Save the Nation in 2012 to Royal Republic and the Nosebreakers in 2014, the group established its foundations before steering its songwriting toward something more danceable and melodic on Weekend Man in 2016 and Club Majesty in 2019. Lovecop, released in 2024, continues in that vein with taut guitars, a pronounced driving pulse and a tongue-in-cheek sensibility running through the lyrics.

On stage, Royal Republic belongs to that Scandinavian school that prioritizes efficiency, collective energy and a compact concert format. Expect a tight sequence of punchy riffs and immediate choruses, where new tracks are mixed with the band’s staples.
