On 26 February 2027 at 7:00 PM at Zénith Orléans, “The Music of John Williams and Hans Zimmer” — a symphonic concert — returns to the programme. The programme includes: Interstellar, Jurassic Park, The Dark Knight, Harry Potter, Inception, Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean. Rediscover these film scores performed by more than 70 musicians on stage. Under the direction of conductor Nicolas Simon, the Yellow Socks Orchestra, a French symphony orchestra specializing in film music, will perform works by both composers.
John Williams, renowned for his orchestration, has shaped film music since the 1970s. The longtime collaborator of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, he wrote the scores for many cinema classics: E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jaws, Indiana Jones. His melodic themes, recognizable from the opening bars, brought the symphony orchestra back to the center of film. Awarded 5 Oscars and nominated 54 times, his work spans generations.
Hans Zimmer, a German-born composer who became an American citizen, renewed the language of film music by blending orchestral writing with electronic sonorities. His collaborations with Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar) and Ridley Scott (Gladiator) have left a lasting mark on contemporary cinema. A two-time Oscar winner, he is known for creating immersive soundscapes.
For nearly two hours, the programme returns to the heart of the music that has defined film history. The audio reinforcement is provided by the d&b Soundscape system.
