Les musiques de John Williams et Hans Zimmer

On March 5, 2027 at 7:00 p.m. at the Zénith de Pau, The Music of John Williams and Hans Zimmer in Symphonic Concert returns with a new program. Following a 2025 tour that drew more than 100,000 spectators, this concert offers the chance to experience these two composers’ music live in the concert hall.

On the program: Interstellar, Jurassic Park, The Dark Knight, Harry Potter, Inception, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean. The film scores will be performed by more than 70 musicians on stage, under the direction of conductor Nicolas Simon, with the Yellow Socks Orchestra, a French symphonic orchestra specializing in film music.

John Williams has shaped film music since the 1970s. Closely associated with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, he wrote the scores for E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jaws, and Indiana Jones. He has received 5 Academy Awards and 54 nominations.

Hans Zimmer, a German-born composer who became an American citizen, has blended orchestral writing with electronic textures. His collaborations with Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar) and Ridley Scott (Gladiator) have left a strong mark on contemporary cinema. He has received 2 Academy Awards.

The concert lasts approximately two hours. The music of Hans Zimmer and John Williams is featured; the composers will not be present on stage.

Nicolas Simon is the music director of the Yellow Socks Orchestra. He has been principal conductor of the Orchestre de Caen since 2020, is the founder of La Symphonie de Poche and Philharmonicoeur, and is associate conductor of the orchestra Les Siècles.

Founded in 2015, the Yellow Socks Orchestra is a French symphonic ensemble specializing in film music. It takes part in cine-concerts in France, including Jurassic Park, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, La La Land, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings and the Harry Potter saga. Under the direction of Joe Hisaishi, it has performed music from Hayao Miyazaki’s universe (Studio Ghibli).
