On June 6, 2026 at 5:00 PM at Centquatre — 104, Deena Abdelwahed reinvents the performance of electronic music by drawing on intuitive improvisation, which plays an essential role in Arabic music. Using popular songs from the 1920s and 1950s, the artist and the musicians accompanying her transform the customary uses of established instrumentation, notably through a MIDI qanûn custom-built at IRCAM. A new way to experience musical tradition.
