On June 17, 2026 Midrift plays Patronaat in Haarlem. The San Francisco trio — Manoa Neukermans, Kai Neukermans and Gus Merkam — blends shoegaze, melodic grunge and emo into compact songs built from layers of saturated guitars, restrained tempos and vocals that move between clear and raw. Their self-titled debut EP from 2022 sets the tone: drifting textures, stout riffs and an introspective undercurrent that keeps the edges taut.

Live, Midrift shapes arcs of tension that pull from dreamy to propulsive, layering sound without losing the melody. The band occupies a space between contemporary shoegaze, melodic post-hardcore and indie rock, with arrangements that remain short, direct and purposeful. Since their first releases they’ve played widely across California and Texas and shared stages with Fiddlehead, Momma, Glare, Quannnic and Wisp. In Haarlem that sound lands plain and unvarnished: dense, physical and with room for detail and friction.
